Fulham Stalwart Could Quit Craven Cottage by Mr Comfort April 15th, 2013 - caughtoffside

Veteran Aussie shot-stopper Mark Schwarzer could be about to quit Premier League outfit Fulham at the end of the season after five years with the West London club, says the Daily Mirror.

The Australia international, 40, is believed to be concerned that if he is not playing regular first-team football at Craven Cottage next campaign, then he will lose his starting place with the Socceroos.

And, with there being a World Cup finals taking place in Brazil next summer, that would mean Schwarzer not taking part in the global show-piece event.

The goalkeeper has featured in only 16 top-flight matches for the Cottagers under head coach Martin Jol this season, as injuries have once again affected his appearance record and with it being known that the Dutchman is keen to bring a younger No. 1 to the club this summer, Schwarzer is said to be weighing up all his options before making a final decision as to his future intentions.
