It should come as no surprise that John Grant Jr. of the Colorado Mammoth is just a gifted lacrosse player. In 2012 he broke the single-season scoring document in the NLL when he noted a massive 116 factors for the Mammoth. He is an associate of the 500 purpose club and the 1,000 point club. After being picked by the Rochester Knighthawks, he was Rookie of the Entire Year in 2,000 and has since acquired two MVP awards, in 2007 and 2012 (one each in Rochester and Colorado). He's been called to the All-Pro First Team six times and the Next Team on two other occasions. That is not even counting all the awards he's been given while spending his summers playing outdoors in the MLL, including two MVP awards. This year, Grant Jr. moved in to third place over all in all-time rating, driving the legendary Gary Gait. He finished 2nd in the league in goals with 43, fifth in details with 91 and tied for the lead in energy play goals with 15. His initiatives this year, including a sock key, eight hat tricks and an evening, were enough to cause the Mammoth to a playoff position, in spite of some loose goaltending early in the year. To sum it up, John Grant Jr. is very good. Therefore it should also come as no surprise that this Hall of Famer can place a lacrosse ball virtually wherever he wants, whenever he wants. Grant Jr. has begun making regular contributions to the Colorado Mammoth's YouTube site, putting up short videos of himself performing key shots. Some are pretty great, like hitting a balloon going swimming the stands in the Pepsi Center, and some show off his energy, like him blowing aside several watermelons. And some, in a series called Four Shots, are only plain awe-inspiring. In the collection Grant Jr. goes around to various exciting locationsa'the Pepsi Center, Coors Field, a Mexican restauranta'and essentially just shows off. MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Dizzy Dean after said "It ain't braggin' when you can do it." Well, David Grant Jr. May do it. And then some. Capture Grant Jr. and his Colorado Mammoth teammates on Saturday when they visit the Calgary Roughnecks in the first round of the NLL playoffs. Follow me on Twitter @calgaryjimbo
