Buffalo Sabres agitator Steve Ott did something very odd last night. Anything not seen often anywhere, and certainly not seen often on a hockey rink. He licked an player (or, attempted to lick him a' Iam not entirely certain he didnat just get in touch with the helmet). Iam not sure why he did it, but the deed was done, and it has been recorded for all to see. The target (or whatever you call a person who was unexpectedly licked), was Jeff Halpern of the Montreal Canadiens. Rob Halpern took a coat on the snow, but not in the way you generally see. There is not much to express here. This really is among the strangest things Iave ever seen. Iam not sure if it absolutely was in jest, disappointment, disappointment a' but this occurred.
