BOSTON (AP) a' The FBI launched photos and movie Thursday of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing and called for the public's help in determining them, zeroing in on the two guys on surveillance-camera footage less than three days after the life-threatening assault. The photographs show one person in a dark baseball cap and another in a cap worn backwards. The men were seen walking together in the crowd, and the one in the white hat was seen setting down a backpack at your website of one of the explosions, explained Richard DesLauriers, FBI agent in charge in Boston. "Somebody on the market knows these people as buddies, neighbors, co-workers or members of the family of the suspects. The nation is relying on people that have data in the future forward and offer it to us," DesLauriers said, though it might be hard. Within moments of the statement, the FBI web site failed, possibly because of a crush of visitors. After President Barack Obama and first woman Michelle Obama visited an support at a Catholic cathedral in Boston to remember the three people killed and over 180 injured in the twin blasts Monday at the marathon finish line the pictures were introduced hours. Movie and photos recovered in the research are being examined and improved by an FBI system named the Operational Technologies Division, said Joe DiZinno, former director of the FBI lab in Quantico, Va. Detectives are considering movie frame by frame a a laborious process, though one served by far more advanced facial recognition technology than is commercially available, forensic authorities said. "When you've anything that is this high-profile, they're likely to use every available source that they have," said former Miami federal prosecutor Melissa Damian Visconti. The research will probably obtain of a million hours of videotape from set security cameras and cellphones and cameras used by fans, said Gene Grindstaff, a scientist at Intergraph Corp., a, Ala., company which makes video analysis pc software used by the FBI and other police force agencies. "Back in the times of twenty years ago, you were fortunate if you'd movie and it was probably of poor quality and it took a tremendous level of advancement. Today you have a totally different issue," Grindstaff said. The software may also spot patterns that experts might not discover, such as a specific car that turns up in different areas, Grindstaff said. The blast factors could be tracked by finding out the item's producer, where each piece is normally obtained and perhaps the unit resembles any bombs the FBI has observed in past problems. The FBI laboratory keeps reveal file on past bombings, including several international attacks. "Let us say there is a timer," DiZinno said. "Was there a serial number? Who was simply the manufacturer? That will provide leads for investigators."
