Ohio State Football Recruiting: Urban Meyer Pursing Gifted QBs in 2014 School

Metropolitan Meyer has made it clear by giving scholarships to three top quarterback prospects he is seeking to reinforce the range at the situation in the type of 2014. The run started on Wednesday when Meyer gave a present to Scout.com's No. 1-rated quarterback, Kyle Allen out of Scottsdale, Ariz. He followed that through to Thursday by providing scholarships: Brandon Harris to two quarterbacks from Bossier City, La., and Zach Darlington from Apopka, Fla. Main-stream wisdom says the method is to get one of these to make first and beat the others to the strike. That, however, does not appear to be the case for Allen, who could wait until July to determine. That will not seem to be Meyer's driving determination. With many quarterbacks already off the table for the Class of 2014 and the concern of the lack of depth behind Braxton Miller, aside from if he decides to keep after his senior season, he has to locate a quarterback for depth uses. That's a large reasons why OSU got JT Barrett last year, although he likely won't play this year after getting his ACL in his senior year of high school. The Buckeyes do need certainly to keep adding at the position, and who better to get it done than the person who employed both Tim Tebow and Cam Newton in straight recruiting classes? The big reward is clearly Allen, who is one of the top-rated quarterbacks in the united states although he's more of a passer than Meyer has an average of had in his offenses. His background has been dual-threat quarterbacks like Harris and Darlington, each of whom is way better suitable for run OSU's crime. But Meyer did have Alex Smith at Utah and made him in to the No. Although his pro career has not been extremely good, 1 overall pick in 2005. It's too early to say one of the ways or the other which of the three, if any, Ohio State will land. Ideally, it would prefer to put two and begin to produce a solid direction of quarterbacks. But Meyer must certanly be able to get at least one and let him sit behind Miller and Barrett for at least a year or two before being able to compete for the job. Adding depth will soon be important in the years ahead with Kenny Guiton graduating next season. You can not have enough good QBs, and Ohio State will be looking to increase a minumum of one more to its current stable centered on its new run of offers to prime prospects. For who chooses to become Buckeye, we will need to wait and see. Follow me on Twitter @bielik_tim for the most recent school basketball news and changes.
