Some Maple Leafs Player Took A One-Timer To the Face. Should Hockey Members Wear Helmets?

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher J. A. Happ took a line drive for the face on Tuesday, prompting discussion on baseball pitchers doubtless wearing helmets. Our own Rick Chandler did an extensive investigation on pitchers being hit inside the head, and he encourages helmet-wearing pitchers. Then, yesterday, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Mark Fraser took a hard one-timer to the facial area, leaving a trail involving bloody ice. And As i don't mean "Bloody ice! " like an Englishman who just tripped with ice, I mean blood-stained snowing conditions.

So, as Jimmy Three-Sports-Loving National, I must ask: how come is hockey allowed to be found, and required that that does… why don't this option wear helmets?

I little one, I kid. But certainly, ~73% of NHL game enthusiasts wear visors, and that will number is too low. The NHL is taking into account making them mandatory, and whether that happens or not, it seems clear that this minority's priorities for comfort or vision or observed BIG, MEATY BALLS are not nearly enough to outweigh the potential of being hit in the face using a dense rubber disk vacationing faster than most speed limits (except inside Midwest — you will drive like 130 mph with Michigan highways).

Seriously, really is endless Mark Fraser is ACCEPTABLE, and we hope that this puck reassembled the logic a component his brain, and that she begins to wear a visor.
