The Baggies midfielder was given a red card after kicking the ball aggressively at Gary O'Neil during the closing stages of the 3-1 defeat at Upton Park.
"We chased the game for most of the afternoon. We also had some chances but you could feel the frustration building because we didn't getthe game to 2-1 and give ourselves a chance to get something from it.
"But you have to control yourself. The red card didn't affect the game today but it will affect the group for the next three games, because we've got a small squad. Youssouf will be a big loss to us.
"West Ham deserved to win. We started the game quite well, and could've gone in front when Jaaskelainen made a good save to deny Romelu's deflected free-kick. There are always small margins in games and instead of being 1-0 up, a couple of minutes later we found ourselves a goal down. From there, it's a difficult afternoon.
"To lose two goals in the manner we did from their set-plays, and to lose a counter-attack goal from our set play, was disappointing.
"The goals we lost were poor. It's something we have to address and we will rectify it. Like I said to the boys after the game, we've not had this feeling too many times this season. It's been a decent campaign for us. We need to dust ourselves down and bounce back next week against Arsenal."
