With the WWE's Elimination Chamber less than three weeks away, the Royal Rumble results give the WWE Universe something to look forward to.
For the first time since August 2002, The Rock is WWE Champion. John Cena came through with his guarantee and won the Royal Rumble, earning himself a title match at WrestleMania 29. This sets up a rematch between the two at WrestleMania that could potentially be more anticipated than the first match.
There's only one thing standing in the way of Rock vs. Cena II—the Elimination Chamber. But with the short turnaround between pay-per-views, the WWE may not have time to develop new feuds. Look for the creative team to combine feuds for the WWE and World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber matches.
It has caused much speculation about the results of the Rumble, but last night didn't really clear up much. For example I don't see how Big Show and John Cena fit into the match the poster indicates.
Show's feud with Alberto Del Rio should be done. The two WWE Superstars have fought in two Last Man Standing matches, a fight usually used to end a feud. The match at the Royal Rumble was actually entertaining, but we've been there and done that.
So the WWE gives Big Show a shot at the WWE Championship after losing the World Heavyweight Championship and failing to get it back?
I understand how the other four competitors (The Rock, CM Punk, Sheamus and Ryback) play in the situation. Sheamus and Ryback were two of the final three competitors in the Royal Rumble match—there has to be some bad blood there.
We all know how Punk and The Rock fit. It would be interesting to see The Rock make his first title defense against this level of competition.
Cena being with them, though, is leaving me scratching my head. He wouldn't be in a title match, because he has a title opportunity in the main event of WrestleMania 29. Sheamus, who won the 2012 Royal Rumble, wasn't even in a match at last year's Elimination Chamber.
It'll be interesting to see what WWE ends up doing. This could all just be speculation. The WWE very well could have just decided to put its biggest draws on a poster. We'll definitely find out in the coming days.
This has been building for a while now. Dolph Ziggler has participated in some main events on Monday Night Raw in recent weeks.
After Ziggler's performance and final-four finish at the Rumble, he is primed to take the World Heavyweight Championship from the title holder at Elimination Chamber.
Being the first entrant and lasting as long as he did in the match will give Ziggler the momentum he needs. He's going to be on a rampage in the coming weeks to "show off" what he can do.
I wouldn't be surprised if Ziggler cashed in his Money in the Bank contract for a final spot in the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber. Also keep in mind that Ziggler is a heel and may cash in his contract at the end of the match.
After winning the NXT Tournament to earn an opportunity to compete in the Royal Rumble, Bo Dallas had a chance to shock the world, and he did not disappoint.
It was not as big of an elimination as Maven eliminating The Undertaker in 2002, but is similar in that a newer superstar eliminated an established WWE Superstar.
Look for Bo Dallas to appear on upcoming televised WWE programming. If he does, he has momentum on his side from his surprising performance at the Rumble.
If someone told me a year ago that Daniel Bryan and Kane would be the most entertaining tag team in the WWE, I would have said "Hell no."
These two are absolutely hilarious together. They banter back and forth and truly bring out the best in one another.
However, as sad as it is to say this, it looks as if the team's time together is drawing to an end. Even by retaining the tag team titles over Team Rhodes Scholars at the Rumble, it doesn't appear to be enough.
They were both responsible for each other's eliminations in the Royal Rumble match. Daniel Bryan eliminated Kane after they took out The Great Khali.
As Bryan was taunting Kane, Antonio Cesaro threw him over the top rope. Kane caught Bryan and had a chance to save him but let him fall to the floor for the elimination.
Now I understand that team members have eliminated each other before, like Kane eliminating Rob Van Dam in 2003, but this one was different.
The Royal Rumble often hints at future feuds or storyline changes. With the popularity of both these superstars, they can't be a team forever. With the Road to WrestleMania officially beginning, watch for the inevitable break up of Team Hell No.
First, The Shield slammed The Rock through the announce table, after blacking out the arena. Because the referee didn't see it, CM Punk rolled The Rock into the ring and pinned him.
In the midst of his celebration, Vince McMahon came out originally to strip CM Punk of the title, but The Rock demanded a restart to the match and the rest is history.
I want to know how the WWE is going to handle this from CM Punk's perspective. Do they make him boil with rage? Do they give him a rematch right away? Does he stay quiet for a week?
It probably won't be the latter as CM Punk is very vocal, but after 14 months with the belt around his waist, I want to see how losing the title affects him.
